This new class is intended to provide a forum and focus for young adults as they leave high school and begin the early phases of adult life.  It is based upon Bible Study, and since the Bible deals with all aspects of life from social to intellectual, from joy to grief, from answers to paradox, the class will confront these too.  The gospel is understood easily by children, but challenges the best of intellects, so there is something there for all of us in between.

GOALS

To know God better, in both simplicity and complexity

To better know Man, as created in His Image – Imagio Deo

To see how He manifests himself in various aspects of life and creation

To develop an approach to life, as an individual, as His follower

To learn to not be afraid

In other words, come to a Christian philosophy of life, that is, perspective.

SOME QUESTIONS

Why does this even interest us?

Is Man created in the Image or God or is God created in the Image of Man?

What does it mean to be a Christian (lawyer, scientist, writer, athlete, ...)?

What are methods of coming to truth?  (There are many.)

What is the difference between a conclusion and an assertion?

METHODS

Bible study, we continue with Mark.

Discussion, please participate.

Outside guests, mostly from our congregation who are professionals.

Recognize that to understand God, implies some questions will remain.

ASSIGNMENT
