SENIORS MINISTRY
Welcome to the Senior’s web page! We are a diverse group of men and women 55 years and older who are not yet ready to sit on a porch swing.
We meet early Sunday morning for Bible study (some still call it “Sunday School”) and we wrapped up a series on the life on David this past December. In January we moved to the New Testament to tackle Paul’s letters to the Thessalonians.
Last October we began our winter “Brown Bag ‘n Bible” study on Romans (Thursdays at 10:30 AM) which ended March of 2010. In October we will pick this up again. We meet in Rooms 3 and 4, and following our time of study we enjoy a sack lunch, and occasionally we splurge and eat out.
Our first ministry goal is to support, encourage and pray for one another through worship, and study of God’s Word.
Our second goal is to continue to be active in serving in the various ministries here at CDOBC. There are always openings for elders, deacons, deaconesses, as well as cross-generational opportunities, like VBS, Fall Festival, AWANA, Children's Sunday School, not to mention Choir. (Do I hear a tenor out there?)
Our third goal is to provide times of fellowship through our Thanksgiving dinner, annual ethnic potluck, day trips to Phoenix and environs, as well as cruises. In addition, we are pleased to support Youth Haven Ranch by collecting toys, personal care items, and some clothing.
We desire to become more involved in the community at large so this past Thanksgiving we served dinner at Gospel Rescue Mission. Join us and begin serving too!

“We always thank God for all of you, mentioning you in our prayers. We continually remember before our God and Father your work produced by faith, your labor prompted by love, and your endurance inspired by hope in our Lord Jesus Christ.” I Thessalonians 1:1-2
“And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds. Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another--and all the more as you see the Day approaching.” Hebrews 10:24-25
